Griffith as Femto will observe humanity see their feelings unfold, fantasia was something they desired. Griffith is more like an angel a anti angel I don’t know how to put it, but he will see things unfold then something inside of him will make him feel (Guts ) again. Femto is more boring but hard to describe we know what he did with Casca is something human Griffith wouldn’t do, seems godhand when acending so things their human self didn’t do. I’m always making theories what does Griffith want?

Yeah I definitely see Femto/NeoGriff as basically an angel within the world of Berserk. The Godhand have been referred to as angels a few times too. I love the idea of him basically existing to fulfill humanity’s desires but his residual feelings for Guts are like a bug or flaw in the system that impedes God’s plans. Tho who knows?

Imo yeah becoming an apostle or a Godhand essentially strengthens your negative emotions and weakens/destroys your positive ones. “A fissure in your heart will open into which evil will surge,” Griffith explicitly losing his ability to feel empathy as he transforms, in the lost chapter Femto is described as being physically (well astral-ly?) made of evil, etc. So yeah, it literally changes you, but not necessarily into something completely new with no relation to your original self – it’s more like, an alternate version of you.

Are you asking me what Griffith wants, or just kind of musing outloud lol, I’m not sure based on your phrasing. But imo he just wants a kingdom/empire. I think NeoGriffith basically retained human Griffith’s ambition, but lost the very human reasons behind that ambition (guilt, despire for an escape from harsh reality, to feel like he has a reason for existing) in his transformation, making him kind of this eerie being who just exists to create a utopian empire.

But again, residual feelings for Guts in the mix can and should complicate that rly interestingly.

Regarding your previous asks I also think Griffith retains his emotions! And there’s even that scene that implies his emptiness and loneliness in the Falconia of the Millennium. So I’ve started thinking if he has maintained his emotions only towards Guts because of their terrifying intensity. This made me wonder something, whether he feels any sort of remorse for what he did to Casca. Do you think that’s possible?

Yeah I think it’s possible, but it would depend on like… what NGriff’s emotions even are I guess. If like you suggest he has residual feelings for Guts because they were so life-alteringly strong when he was a human and Guts survived the sacrifice, then his capacity to care enough about anyone else to feel remorse is probably long gone. similarly if it’s just the fetus fucking with him then guilt and remorse is probably totally out of the picture.

I’m really into the idea of NGriff having a full range of unfrozen emotions and just completely repressing them tho. like, if human griffith justified his dirty/cruel actions to himself by telling himself that it would be worth it and he’ll be validated by fate when he achieves his goal (which i think he did but i’m not going to get into it rn bc that’s an upcoming post), then neogriffith can double down on that because he has achieved his goal now and has basically had his entire life and all his actions validated directly by god lol

so even if part of himself has woken up or w/e and is there with his beating heart feeling actual emotions and being horrified at what he’s become, it’d be really easy for him to deny/ignore those feelings because he has divine right, his life was/is dictated by fate and god itself told him everything he does is exactly what’s meant to happen, and therefore he has no reason to feel guilty for anything ever

which has the potential to be a really interesting internal struggle in theory. in practice the fact that the guilt-worthy subject is rape really like, sours it for me lbr, i can only cringe at the prospect of Miura addressing it in the future, but welcome to berserk i guess.

Also if I was going to make a guess about what’s most likely to happen in actual canon, I’d say that NGriff is probably never going to express actual remorse for anything though there may be subtle hints of inner conflict. give or take how much or how little of his feelings end up genuinely being attributed to the patron saint of lazy writing, the fetus.

Serpico and Roderick

Serpico:

ship with: this is so difficult. I really want him and Guts to have a weird drunken hookup exactly once, but that’s not really shipping. I could see him with Roderick, I think it would be cute if he’s engaged to Farnese but just shrugs when it turns out she’s not interested and gets with Serpico instead lol, and Serpico seems to like manly yet relatively decent dudes (you cannot tell me he didn’t hit on Luca’s bf that one time).

I’ve also seen Serpico/Silat suggested, and I mean they’ve never interacted before but the idea kind of leapt out at me and tbh I could see it. Serpico’s chill and reasonable, Silat is hot-headed but also reasonable, Silat is a leader who has a goal, Serpico is more of a tempering follower, Silat’s flashy and Serpico’s understated. Idk they feel like a good combination.

brotp: Farnese ofc. I do love them together, in a platonic sibling way lol. Whatever happens I wouldn’t want to see them separate.

general opinions: Serpico is a v refreshing character in the world of Berserk lol, it’s kind of nice having someone in the mix who is chill. I mean he’s chill to a fault, and it’s shown to be also a result of childhood trauma (oh Berserk), but it makes a good contrast to everyone else. I enjoy his character development, which is subtler than most other characters – like watching him slooooowly move from wanting Guts to die to occasionally saving his life has been great. It’d be nice to see him with another important relationship outside of Farnese – we can see that the RPG group is growing on him, but while Farnese has new, influential relationships with Guts, Schierke, Casca, and Roderick to an extent, Serpico doesn’t really. Give him a boyfriend, Miura.

Roderick:

brotp: Farnese, I think they have the beginnings of a cute friendship, or Guts, bc they hit it off pretty well with some chill mutual battle-related respect and Guts needs more ordinary, well-adjusted bros.

general opinions: He doesn’t really grab me as a character, but I don’t dislike him either. He’s nice, he seems like a good dude – he’s the one who headed the attempt to save Guts from the sea god thing, and I can respect that, plus I enjoyed the reveal that he’s like the fighting equivalent of Guts on a ship. I think he’s got more going on beneath the pleasant exterior – we had that interrupted schemy conversation with Magnifico that we still haven’t addressed afaik, but I doubt it’s anything particularly sinister.

brotp: tbh all the Hawks, I love what we see of her relationship to the Band in general. I love the theoretical concept of her being bffs with Guts instead of hooking up with him and just removing all sex from their relationship, but in canon as is, nah get them far away from each other.

general opinions: I love her, I think she had a ton of potential as an interesting character that unfortunately we only ever got to see brief glimpses of, I really really wish the story was kinder to her, and I want her to raise hell when she gets her mind back.

Dancing headcanon – Guts

Guts cannot dance and has zero desire to try. If he did try he might actually be pretty good at it, I mean fighting is like dancing in some ways right? But it doesn’t matter bc he’s never gonna try.

Bathing/showering headcanon

– Guts

Guts doesn’t give a fuck, he’ll dunk himself in water when it’s handy but he’s not going to go out of his way to seek out a bath. It’s fantasy medieval times, everyone’s used to BO.

Kissing headcanon

Dude just goes for it. He’s confident in himself and suave and experienced so he relies on his charms to sweep ppl off their feet and seal the deal with a kiss at the right moment.

Probably good in the sack, he seems to know what he’s about. tbh he’s got to be one of the v few Berserk characters who’s had good sex multiple times. Also he brags a lot about women but I’m gonna say he might go for women on land but at sea he’s happy with dudes.

Anger headcanon – Jill

Jill, being inspired by Guts but deciding to stay in her shitty town for whatever reason, channels her anger at all the awful people she’s surrounded by into teaching herself the sword. Maybe finds someone less terrible to teach her the stuff she can’t learn herself. When Griffith breaks the world half her town gets eaten and she takes off to become an adventurer.

Soft spot headcanon – Zodd

He has a soft spot for anyone who manages to survive more than 5 minutes against him. Especially Guts who he practically has a crush on and won’t let anyone else kill unless he absolutely has to.

Dancing headcanon – Theresia

hmmm okay – Theresia is out now, seeing the world for the first time, fueled by rage and revenge, but not so consumed by it that she can’t feel the wonder of experiencing the world properly finally after only seeing it from her window. She’s wandering from place to place learning to fight from anyone who will teach her something. One day she finds herself in a small town during some spring festival. There’s dancing in the streets, and she gets pulled into it. She doesn’t know how to dance but she has a great time moving from partner to partner and just going with it and letting loose for an afternoon. Afterwards it’s one of her fondest memories.

Anger headcanon – Slan

Omg okay I just thought of this bc of you putting the words Slan and Anger together, but hey what if the thing that turned her into a member of the Godhand wasn’t sex-related like we all assume from the fact that her tits are out in Berserk?

I’m not gonna build a whole narrative here but hell maybe she was an epic, prideful queen or something who lost a war, and decided to sacrifice all her loyal beloved subjects and become a god rather than accept her loss. Also for added camp drama the kingdom she lost to’s queen is her ex girlfriend. She was the main sacrifice. Now there’s a headcanon you can hang your hat on.

Relationship with NeoGriffith headcanon – Locus

Locus takes the noble knight thing waaaay too seriously. Also while the rest of the apostles are all in love with Griffith by default, Locus would be in love with him anyway. He’s got this whole loyal devoted knight/sexy king thing built up in his head.

Physical appearance headcanon

– Void

Dude looks like… that… because of a) how he was tortured (the hooks and stuff) and b) bc he’s a sage (nerd) and really wants to emphasize his brain over his looks. Superlong scarecrow skeleton arms are so he can pull his cloak out to the sides and flap it like wings and fly away.

Kissing headcanon – Anna

NICE. Okay her first kiss with Charlotte is initiated by Charlotte after she sobs in Anna’s arms about how she’s pretty sure her husband is a soul-less void and also gay af. Charlotte reaches out tentatively, says, “you’ll always love me, right?” and kisses her.

Anna spends about 2 seconds going ‘holy shit holy shit holy shit’ and then loses all decorum, takes control of the kiss, carries her to the bed, and immediately undertakes the job of making Charlotte forget all about her demon husband, with rousing success.

Driving headcanon

– Corkus

lmao THE WORST. Never get into a car with his man. He will scream at everyone, he will honk obnoxiously during traffic jams, he will tailgate, he will pass on a solid yellow line, he considers going the speed limit a form of losing.

Singing headcanon – Pippin

He has the best bass voice. He doesn’t sing often but get a few drinks into him and everyone shuts up to listen to him.

Hugging headcanon

– Casca

This is how she wants to comfort and be comforted. Casca is a huggy person, she will hug you without thinking if it looks like you need it. To get Farnesca for a sec Farnese loves nothing more than being wrapped in Casca’s strong comforting arms in a vulnerable moment.

Wardrobe headcanon

– Casca

Vastly prefers men’s clothes. Even if she got over her awkwardness with feeling out of place in a dress, men’s clothes are just more practical, easier to move in, and a whole lot better for combat. (Farnese agrees and they make a rly striking pair – Casca more casual while Farnese gets dandy-ish)

Hugging headcanon 

He’s always the one hugging someone to comfort them, never the one needing comfort. So he’ll hug Casca after she thinks he’s dead to reassure her, but he’ll twist out of her arms when she’s trying to comfort him in the river.

But deep down, somewhere he won’t admit to himself, he really, really wants to be wrapped in Guts’ big arms. Like letting Guts hold him and letting himself feel comforted would be one of the highest relationship achievements to unlock.

Post-torture, when Guts did get to hug him and hold him a few times, Griffith would’ve pushed him away if he could and a tiny part of him was glad he couldn’t.

Sex headcanon

Because I think it fits him on a meta-level, I think if Griff has sex-related trauma it’s more about feeling objectified and used rather than say sexual position. So he’d switch but wants to be the one in control regardless. With Guts he’d definitely lean towards power bottoming, and he’d lavish praise on Guts, talk about how gorgeous he is, etc. Guts wants to be looked-at and Griffith wants to do the looking so I think they’d be rly compatible from the start. But I also think it’s kind of a burden to him to always feel the need to be in control so there’s another related high-level relationship achievement to unlock in some happily ever after au.

Also doing this one for NeoGriff because I feel like there’s a significant change:

NeoGriff otoh would have sex solely to please his partner. What with the whole “the desired” thing, he would just become whatever his partner wanted him to be, because the only reason he’d be having sex anyway is to further his goal. So Charlotte gets this ready-made fantasy object who doesn’t give a fuck but is really good at pretending to, and so does anyone else he might ever end up getting laid by, for whatever goal-related reason. He’s still in control no matter what he’s doing what with being a god and all, but it’s all dictated by the other’s desires.

Other than Guts who is still the eternal exception.

I think modern AU Guts would actually be a pretty chill driver. He might enjoy going for drives in a zen way, like he likes doing sword drills when he’s thinking too much. Traffic jams would rly piss him off though. He needs to feel like he’s doing something, not just sitting around and waiting. Also I think he’d go on night drives when he can’t sleep.

Relationship with/thoughts on _____ headcanon 

lmao he wouldn’t have a clue. Griffith would be a social media god, and Guts would just be like, why the fuck. He only cares about validation from a few specific people he knows irl so likes and comments would mean nothing to him. Maybe he’d be subscribed to a few youtube channels about gym workouts or something, if that counts.

Also he might have an instagram account solely because Griffith made him make one to follow him with.

Dancing headcanon

Okay I’m gonna say that Serpico dreaded balls and dances, not because he hated dancing with Farnese but because they had a tendency to lead to awkward moments and lots of duels.

But as of now in the story he finds himself missing them and thinking of them fondly. They were awkward and weird and troublesome but he misses that us-against-the-world feeling when he was with Farnese among all the other nobles.

8. Sex headcanon

She’s mostly a top (and dom with the right parnter) but can switch. She can let loose and get rough but it’s very partner dependant – the thing she most wants to do is make her partner melt into a puddle of pleasure. She wouldn’t start having sex until after she learned a few lessons about being considerate and taking joy and pride in helping others (yk bc she’s still a virgin in canon afaik) and I’m js that would def help make her a gr8 top and/or dom. Her sadistic urges haven’t gone away entirely but I’d say they’re mitigated by care for the other person and rather than solely getting off on like burning someone or flogging someone she could definitely get off on making the other person feel overwhelming pleasure.

The masochism seemed like a manifestation of guilt and shame to me so now that she’s more comfortable with herself that’s probably neither here nor there.

12. Jewelry headcanon

She was indifferent to it when she lived among nobles and had like chests full of it, though I imagine she had a few pieces given to her by her mother and father that she treasured more than the rest.

When she ran away to pursue Guts she occasionally found herself missing the luxury and finery. But when she returned to the Vandimion estate for those two days or so when she was arranging for a ship, she realized how heavy it weighed on her and missed the lightness of the men’s clothes she’d been wearing.
