And so, a little over a month after I put it aside to work on other things, I have now come back and finished my Griffith fanart and Holy. Fucking. Shit. Look at this thing. Now back to my description, now back at the picture, now back to me. This is certainly one of my most ambitious drawings that I’ve ever done up til now and boy does that make me even happier with how well it turned out. When I was about only halfway done with the background and I had only colored in his face i was feeling quite unsure about whether or not it’d all turn out okay, but to repeat myself, it turned out fucking phenomenal. I debated with myself about whether to go with this blueish-purple eclipse color scheme, or to go for a orangeish-red variation, but since I’ve always liked the visual of the cold, blue and purple eclipse (from the Berserk movies) and now seeing this completed, I’m really happy I went with this one. I just don’t think the red would’ve looked this as good as this does. Well anyway, i could just keep going on and on about every little detail or symbol I tried to pack in here, but that’d just take too long so I’ll leave it for you all to enjoy.

“How do you like it? Isn’t it splendid? … Griffith is the best model I’ve ever met.” BERSERK X TOMIE (Junji Ito)

LMAO I forgot to post this when I finished it like, literally a week ago. I wanted to draw more gore, so I thought to combine two of my favourite series into one for a light crossover. This is also a review piece on how I see his character after seeing so much imagery of his outer beauty. Thinking about it brought this, and also made me think deeply about the painter arc in general in Tomie.

the complete version of the Griffith i sketched long time ago, actaully looks quite different .
I tried hard to capture the transformation of the character .
get into the darkness of the world of Berserk. Griffith is not only with a handsome face, his charm is far beyond his apearence.
its hard to define him as evil or saint. thats the beauty of this character!”
