i mean why not both but i was initially thinking griffith. itd be easier to do with just the ovas at least. i have to relisten now i guess!!!

pure griffith pov would probably be a lot easier now that i think about it, i feel like guts’ pov should incorporate dark post-eclipse fated-enemies stuff, which (imo) would be really fun with the upbeat tone of the song, but sadly, 2016/17 animation lol

Yeah, the amv definitely would need post and pre eclipse footage but the different styles would be jarring. What are your thoughts on manga panels in amvs. My other song idea for Guts is Sound of Silence Distrubed cover. 🙂

hmm I think manga panels + animation could work, depending on how it’s done. i’d want to have it divided into sections if i was doing it myself, where you have animation with say one part of the music/story and manga panels during another distinct part of the music/story. but that’s just me, i’m sure there are plenty of ways to incorporate it and make it flow.

ooh the sound of silence + guts is an interesting combination. that cover especially has a good mix of contemplative but like, loud lol, it seems like it would work for guts’ moodiness.

i can’t handle how strong the bitter exes vibe is in the black swordsman arc. it’s lethal

not including most of the hit-you-over-the-head count/wife parallels

like is this not 200% the set up for a doomed flashback romance

I always associate the Lana Cover of Once Upon A Dream with griffguts but I don’t know how to make amvs…

if you have the software available you should try, it’s a lot of fun and the world needs more berserk amvs! it takes a bit of getting used to but depending on the program you use it can be fairly straightforward, and there are youtube tutorials and stuff! imo the hardest part is all the technical bs, dealing with frame rates and aspect ratios and file types etc, but it’s worth powering thru if it’s something that interests you.

though for once upon a dream idk if it would work because i feel like it’d need post eclipse and pre eclipse footage and combining 2016/7 berserk animation with ova or 90s anime animation would make it stick out like a sore thumb. tho on the other hand if the golden age is used flashback style the different character models/animation would be less jarring and might enhance the feeling of separation… idk it would be worth experimenting with and could be pretty awesome.

When can we expect your new posts about Griffith? I am already excited and look at your blog everyday if it is already up…No pressure. Just a question.^^

well i’m flaky and can’t guarantee anything, but the last part is coming together. i said i’d finished it a while ago and just needed to edit it, but that wasn’t taking into account the fact that my “finished” fourth part was barely more than an outline lol 😡 ugh @ past me. i’d say a week or less, to give myself enough leeway to procrastinate more lol. i could probably finish it in an evening, but yk, it’s hard to predict when the next time i’ll feel like spending an evening writing it will be. And I work tonight so 😡 again.

i’m glad you’re excited for it! hopefully it’ll be worth the wait 🙂

when in times of doubt remember that miura wrote recently ‘now that i finally let go of my objection i am being asked abt him’. griffith and guts both talk as if they’re each other’s exes tbh. personally I am still cautious of the Het but still, seeing ppl saying ”guts has been through so much omg their reunion will be moving’ are making me laugh because i don’t think miura would ever do that. so yeah i am holding to that quote as if it’s a life line

This is true and lol I did love that moment in the story, it was such a bitter ex thing to think

Also love that their relationship is so epic random warlocks on an island in the middle of nowhere know about their “profound connection” lol.

And yeah I’m really not expecting a happy reunion between Guts and Casca. It just seems like it would be out of place not just considering how emphasized Casca’s mistrust of him has been (even in Casca’s dream a chapter ago Farnese and Schierke were worried about dog Guts destroying the casket himself while in beast mode lol), but also considering the ominious build up.

And like, in general, Miura just does not seem like the type to go a straightforward happy romance route. That wasn’t their relationship back pre-Eclipse, and there are so many complicating factors that it would make no sense for it to be their relationship now.

tbh if they did have a happy reunion where Casca forgives him and then they make out or w/e that would be the biggest sign that she’s about to die for real or something lbr, which would just be the cherry on top of the suck sundae.

Anyway yeah I’m cautiously optimistic overall I guess, like you. Ty for this ask!

so i’ve been having a hell of a time with part 4 of this griffith thing, it just didn’t seem to be coming together, writer’s block was getting me, i was starting to question whether i was wrong about everything despite parts 1-3 flowing smoothly, and do you know what my fucking breakthrough was???

i hadn’t been emphasizing griffguts enough. literally, i couldn’t piece it together because i was trying to talk mainly about other aspects of his relationship with guts, and griffith’s narrative literally just straight up doesn’t make sense unless a) he’s head over heels in love and b) that’s the most important, driving factor

anyway i still have to re-write it so who knows it might still give me trouble, but now for the first time i’m actually eager to get into this last part instead of dreading hacking away at it because i kept feeling like i was missing something lmfao

jillresia:

god sometimes i forget how real the griffguts chemistry is. From the moment they met they were interested in eachother and wanted to b recognized by eachother and everything else fell by the wayside. even if it wasnt immediate love or even affection tjere was a connection. thats crazy

Right? Like you got Griffith silent and intense while ignoring people talking to him, watching Guts from a distance.

And you have Guts’ iconic first look after Griffith takes off his helmet.

replied to your post “Guts echoes NeoGriffith’s “nothing has changed. This is the man I am.”…”

Could it be him maybe accepting that for NGriff, his old dream is taking priority over his previous love for guts, which guts was eventually aware of?
Not necessarily buying into NGriff’s hype himself, but not wanting to overcomplicate Griffith to his friends? His friends who didn’t even know he knew Griffith?

Yeah I definitely don’t think he’d start getting into all the complicated stuff wrt that relationship with his friends, but the line “he hasn’t changed” is just guts’ thoughts, not something he said outloud, suggesting Guts believes it:

image

and that’s a hell of a loaded statement for guts to be thinking to himself especially with the immediate visual reference to NeoGriffith’s look back at him as he says “nothing has changed.”

image

It could be that he’s just referring purely to what his dream entails, ie a kingdom, but then again, even then, human Griffith only said he wanted a kingdom, he didn’t say anything about taking over the world or building an empire, which is what they’re talking about now.
